Michel Reilhac created the “Dine in the Dark” concept in the 1990s and later built a theme restaurant in Paris. Since then, several restaurants all around the world have adopted and exploited the concept.
Tenebris completely develops the idea for the first time on the Balkans. We want to immerse you in a world without eyesight so that your other senses can take over.
Although sight is primarily responsible for perception, eyes can deceive. This primary sensory pathway accounts for about 83% of the information we get about our surroundings. This has a significant impact on how we interact with the outside world, form preconceptions, and even think. In the world shown by Tenebris, our other senses rule. You will embark on an extraordinary culinary trip as you alter your perspective on food via the use of taste, fragrance, and texture.
Human interaction is a crucial component of the “dine in the dark” experience. Conversations have a tendency to be more in-depth and free of bias, vanity, and smartphones when they take place in complete darkness. You’ll have the chance to learn a lot about your organization and about yourself.
Let yourself fully see when you join us for dinner at Tenebris since sometimes we need darkness to perceive the light. Welcome to our realm of darkness and light!
What to anticipate
Your hostess will greet you and inform you of what to expect. You will meet your host after putting your coats, luggage, phones, and other belongings not appropriate for the experience in a secure location. He or she will welcome you to the dining room, which is completely dark.
All cell phones, watches, lighters, electronic cigarettes, and other anything that could emit light must be kept outside in order to maintain the room’s total darkness, which is necessary for our concept. Like closing your eyes in a pitch-black room, the interior is complete blackness.
Your host will take you to your table and set the stage for your culinary adventure. A 5-course dinner will be served to you by the Tenebris staff, created particularly by our chef for your nighttime dining experience. Please dress accordingly as you may choose to use cutlery or your hands. Call your host by name at any time if you need to get more drinks or use the restroom.
You will be led back to the light where you can view the meals you were served and how much of them you correctly estimated after the dinner, which typically lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours.
Bring some confidence, an adventurous spirit, and an empty stomach, and allow us to show you the world of food and people from a different angle!
