These are among the main associations that arise when mentioning the “Pelikan” bistro in Burgas, which won the award in the debut category of “Bacchus” magazine for 2015. The main menu is relatively short, but well thought out and tailored to the season. Depending on the appetite, you can choose from several really good salads, interesting starters, a really rich arrangement of fish and proven main courses. Among the classics in the culinary genre, you will also find many interesting combinations and interpretations in the dishes. What’s even better is that every day “Pelikan” makes sure that hunger seems powerless in front of the bistro’s daily menu. It always has several meat and lean soups, main dishes, two or three fresh offerings to quench your thirst, as well as simple but temptingly delicious desserts that are prepared on the spot. For a cure from heavy alcoholic evenings there you can find super good rescue tripe, as well as various craft beers from Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania. The interior relies on a clean and soft combination of wood, wrought iron, copper ceiling and concrete walls. All this supplemented with two wonderful illustrations of a pig and a pelican, the work of the famous illustrator Mila Lozanova. However, the setting is only a prelude to what happens on the next level – on the tables and then in the stomachs.
